Embedded Linux Distribution Build and Customisation
Embedded Linux Distribution Build and Customisation
Utilising the versatile Yocto framework (https://www.yoctoproject.org), the RVL engineers have developed a custom embedded Linux distribution for many target processors, ensuring the resulting image not only contains the features needed by the customer but meets the performance and memory footprint required. Designing Linux distributions with tailored layers has proved effective in moving to later versions of the Kernel, BSP, and individual packages, providing the customer with flexibility to move their product on to the next design iteration. In some cases, these custom layers have been ported to an entirely different hardware platform with relative ease:
- Uboot adaptations
- Device tree adaptations
- Driver development
- Kernel configuration
- Recipe creation
- License management
- Yocto Debugging
